Senate approves war resolutions to oust Spain from Cuba
After lengthy debate the Senate passed radical war resolutions and the House accepted a compromise urging immediate intervention to drive Spain from Cuba. McKinley signed the measure. an ultimatum to Spain expired with Spain’s minister leaving Washington. If Spain does not depart by tomorrow, the fleet is expected to proceed to Cuba Saturday.
