Silver Creek residents share Sunday dinners and weekend visits with family and friends across O’Neill Columbus Genoa and Blair. Local households host baptisms weddings hospital stays and travelog events with many relatives attending and returning home.
Mary Martin and Alden Grosch wed at First Methodist in Silver Creek in a 2:30 ceremony led by Rev. E J Kess. Attendants included Nancy Martin and Sharon Grosch with a reception in church parlors. The couple will live in ONeill where he works. Engagement notices follow for Betty Jean Keith and Joyce Marie Tieman with August 3 wedding plans and other local social notes.
Rev. E John Kesson pastor at Silver Creek conducts worship at 10 55 with Sunday School at 9 30. Wednesday activities include choir at 2 and WSCS general meeting on the fourth Wednesday at 7. Senior Youth Fellowship meets in Fairview at 9 30 with Sunday School after church and midweek WSCS sessions.
Silver Creek seniors presented their play with a matinee on April 5 directed by Mr. Miller. The cast included Gay Beck, Sharon Grosch, Nancy Powers, and others. Karen Peterson played piano. Margaret Zywiec, Jackie Powers, and Nancy Powers sang Born Free. Osceola Record notes election results: Vanek and Graham reelected to the board. Buse and Schott reelected to 3-year terms. All dog owners must pay the dog tax by May 1 1968 and present a rabies vaccination certificate to the village clerk. All dogs found running at large after the date will be destroyed.
