Osceola and vicinity report farmer updates with cattle shipments to Omaha, new hires at local banks, repairs and moves, social events, church meetings, and fraternal lodge activity. Notables include John Anderson shipping fat cattle, Jarmie joining Harvesting Co, German and Swedish community events, and an Easter supper planned by the M E church Ladies Aid.
Charles S Webster born April 20 1837 in Lycoming County Pennsylvania son of Joseph and Elizabeth Webster. He married Martha A Gortner on January 3 1861 served in Co H 5th New York Heavy Artillery from 1863 to 1865 then worked in Williamsport Pennsylvania before moving to Platte County Nebraska in 185 where he engaged in farming and mercantile business later settled near Osceola Nebraska. He joined the M E Church as a boy and remained faithful. Father of ten children eight surviving two daughters died young. He planned to move to Oklahoma but grew ill and died March 49 1903 at 4 45 pm. Funeral held at M E church conducted by Rev J W Embree with G A R and W R O in attendance and burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery with G A R in charge.
The dead letter list for the week ending April 2, 1903, at Osceola Nebraska includes Jennie Kidd W L H McGilles and Walter Westfall remaining uncalled for at the local post office.

Samuel Miller born April 24 1837 in Portage County Ohio lived in Illinois early Civil War service with Company F 54th Illinois Volunteer Infantry and later reenlisted before discharge at Little Rock Arkansas 1865. He settled near Osceola Nebraska married Jane Johnson in 1867 and died March 29 1903 leaving a wife seven children two brothers in Ohio. Burial with G A R post care at Osceola cemetery.
A letter dated March 14 1903 from Dawson City Yukon Territory describes a strike at Tanana causing mass emigration. The writer notes the town is on the bum with no work and predicts fewer than 200 residents by next summer as 25 to 75 men leave daily.
