Durham Clubs Win At Inter County Competition
The Inter-County iClub competitions at Guelph on Friday October 24 drew about 170 teams. Durham County entered seven teams across Dairy Beef Grain Swine Potato and Poultry with West Durham earning first in Swine and Grain. Ontario will send dairy beef swine grain and potato winners to the Dominion finals in Toronto November 18 with a Niagara Falls Ottawa trip and extra coaching for Durham participants.

Orono Park set for Ontario province’s best playing field
On Saturday with Park Board member J. E. Armstrong, visitors toured Orono’s new park grounds under substantial improvement. Plans include a large football field running east to west, a hardball diamond south of center, two softball diamonds, and a ditch and trees to improve drainage and privacy. Last year saw a strong gain in Durham County creamery butter output. September 1947 production reached 110 560 pounds, up from 89 372 in September 1946, a rise of 21 188 pounds.
