About fifty neighbors and friends hosted a miscellaneous shower for Doreen Morgan the bride to be held October 2 at Mr. and Mrs. Percy Morgan’s home in Orono Ontario. Durham Holsteins Win At Championship Holstein Show

Local dairy event highlights Durham Holsteins winning top prizes at the East Central Ontario Championship Holstein Show in Peterborough. Judges from Wisconsin and several York, Ontario, and nearby counties attended as 166 head from 68 exhibitors competed. Ontario’s Rocsdale Rag Apple Sovereign was named Grand Champion Bull while Springdale Inka Lucy headed the Grand Champion Cow class.

Helen Turner Wins Clarke Speaking Contest at Orono

Clarke Township public speaking contest held at Orono Town Hall on October 16. Seven contestants, six girls and one boy, with Helen Turner of No 9 winning and set to represent Clarke Township at the County Contest in Blackstock. The program included Newtonville School Orchestra selections and a recitation by Margaret Getlick of Cowanville.
