Hooeys Celebrate Twenty Fifth Wedding Anniversary
Mr and Mrs Lawrence Hooey marked their 25th wedding anniversary with a home reception for friends and relatives in Orono. Family events included a silver meat platter gift, a 150-guest party at I C C F Hall, and a tea service presentation. Clarke Township Council discussed extending the Ganaraska River Authority to include Clarke and Wilmot Creek, with a possible half mill levy to share costs. Port Hope Hospital Preliminary Drawings Approved

Township Barn Destroyed By Fire
A barn in Clarke Township was destroyed by fire on Saturday evening. The relatively new structure, built within the last three years, stood on property once owned by John Patton and now owned by Mr. Buller of Toronto. It housed baled hay and straw, grain, and machinery. Wesley Cathcart currently farms the property. a barn previously burned four years ago last April.
