Dashwood Triumphs In Ontario Final With 9 to 3 Win

First finals game ends in draw between Dashwood and Orono

The CBA Intermediate D' finals opened with a 7 7 tie at the local park as Crono and Orono exchanged leads. Dashwood rallied late in the seventh, but a darkness call halted play after ten innings with no winner. D West Mercer and K West led Orono hitters. Orono High School Promotes Salesmanship Week

Orono High School plans a salesmanship week sponsored by the Student Council led by Gwen Ransberry. Funds support extracurriculars, athletic equipment, projectors, and educational tours, with broad Canadian participation and sponsorship from Maclean Hunter Publishing. The Field Crop competition in ensilage corn, concluded in Durham Central Agricultural Society events, listed entrants from Orono and nearby towns, with several competitors advancing or unplaced due to silo filling issues.

Visiting Auxiliaries Meet With Orono Afternoon

The Orono United Church Afternoon Auxiliary held its Annual Thanksgiving meeting on Tuesday October 6 with visitors from Bowmanville Newcastle and Kirby Auxiliaries. Mrs A A Drummond led assisted by Mrs R Allin's Group and Recording secretary Mrs C Duncan. The meeting featured Mrs Bruce Gray of Kew Beach United Church Toronto speaking on Building Bridges and gratitude for small things.

Banquet Honors Delegates Both Local And Afar

A complimentary banquet honoring the World Ploughing Delegation sponsored by the Federation of Agriculture of the United Counties of Northumberland and Durham was held Monday evening in Cold Springs Community Hall. By-Law For Plumbing And Sewage Inspection In Clarke Township
