Deer Season in United Counties Sees Moderate Success
The three shotgun deer season passed with minimal disturbance to property owners and deer. Local hunters, many from nearby counties, reported more deer than expected and an estimated one in six hunters bagging venison. Complaints from landowners were few and minor as dogs were not allowed and shotgun ranges limited shots. Overall, the season was well received with hopes for a repeat next fall.
