Orono Public School staged The Blue Belt in Town Hall featuring royalty fairies and a witch. Ontario Pasture Improvement Project Aims to Demonstrate Gains
The Ontario Department of Agriculture announces the Problem Pasture Project to improve unworked permanent pastures. One five acre field per county will be selected before September 1, 1947 with a three acre check plot. The program provides seed and up to 800 pounds of fertilizer per acre in spring 1948 and assigns responsibilities to landowners and the County Crop Improvement Association. A second project tests cattle preferences for forage types using three acre plots divided into quarter acre lots to guide future pasture choices.
