Mrs. Drummond spoke on Christian Stewardship. Mrs. Armstrong reported on the Bowmanville Presbyterial. program by Mrs. Dean's group including choruses and a duet by Mrs. Duncan and Mrs. Cobbledick. Miss M. Davey led the study chapter. attendees quilted two quilts for overseas aid in the Sunday School room after a bring dinner.

Car Stolen At Cobourg Burned On Highway

Bowen Die In February At Orono Farm Near Bowmanville
After a brief illness, Henry C. Bowen, a long time resident near Orono, died at age near ninety. He outlived his wife Katie J. Holmes and leaves a daughter, three sons, nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. The funeral at Morris Funeral Chapel Bowmanville was led by Rev. W W Patterson with burial in Orono cemetery. Pallbearers were neighbors Harold Dean, George Laing, Manson Patton, Cecil Melley, Donald Gibson, and Harold Gibson.

Mr Harold Best won the consolation.

Dairy cattle breeders eye artificial insemination unit in Durham County
More than seventy five breeders attended a Orono Town Hall meeting to explore forming a Durham County unit of the proposed artificial insemination centre for the Lake Shore Counties. Thirty five signed the agreement with plans for herd sites at Belleville and officers elected include President Ross Stevens and Vice President Wesley Werry.
