Fire destroys former Kendal home amid late-week blaze
Firefighters faced a Kendal blaze Thursday night at the former Wannan residence, now owned by Mr Kerr of Peterborough. The house, vacant for years, was past saving but kept from the nearby barn buildings. On Friday, Mrs W Bates hosted an Artex embroidery demonstration for Kendal United Church Women in the new kitchen. A cup and saucer shower for Miss Carol Little was held Friday evening at Mrs Reg Elliott’s, with Miss Joyce Elliott among the choir. A larger community shower followed Saturday night at the Orange Hall for Miss Little’s July 16 Kendal wedding, hosted by master of ceremonies Mr Art Low.
