Ontario Education Debate Highlights Critics and Grants
In Ontario Legislature, MPP Nixon urged expanded bilingual education and warned that 220,000 exceptional children lack proper support. NDP critic Stephen Lewis blasted the system as anti democratic and overstructured, while Minister William Davis defended grants up to 5000 per class for secondary and 3400 per elementary class. A provincial Liberal poll showed mixed views on policy. Davis vowed to pursue a quality driven education system.
