At Morrow Park Peterborough Orono Har ness horsemen swept ten races with four first place finishes. Junior West led with three wins driving Rob Ron Sassy Golden Elgin W and Thelgiers Jack Reid's Thelgiers, plus a second and a fifth. Gerald Robinson won with King of Diamonds, while Jack Williams with Happy Mae and Keith West on Minor B placed seconds. The event concluded with lodge remembrances and a memorial dedication at the cemetery led by Rev Basil Long.

The American Antique Auto Association Ontario Region held a Model A meet at Orono Park last Sunday afternoon. Forty two Model A s registered with ten other antique cars on display. Cars came from Trenton to Toronto and were judged in various categories. Activities included a shoe scramble towing contest and driver contests. Mr Boyd Wood of Orono directed the event. Mrs Lawrence Sherwin won best costume for the Model A era. Miss Nicks of Bowmanville won best child s costume. Wayne Bailey of Orono won a portable television prize.
