The Orono softball league holds its annual meeting at O Cooper’s naming officers President O T Miller and Secretary Treasurer P Winter. The league votes on eligibility rules for outside players and sets a 6 45 start time with 7 for forfeit rule. A double schedule and playoffs for three teams Kirby Forestry and Crono are listed with opening game Orono versus Forestry. Brantis John Cooper dies after long illness at Clarke Township home aged 73. Interment in Orono cemetery.

Perfect heart slam in bridge by Mrs Don S Coons

Mrs Don ald S Coons of Hamilton found a perfect thirteen heart hand while playing bridge on Thursday. After a two clubs two spades auction she bid slam in hearts and laid down her hand for what may be her only perfect hand.

Moffat Electric Cooking Classes Planned by Society

The Women’s Missionary Society invites all women to attend Electric Cooking Classes on Tuesday and Wednesday June 14 and 15 at Park St Church school room. Clarke Township Council Reports April Bank Surplus

Clarke Township Council in regular session notes an April Bank of Commerce balance of 10 969.85 in the township’s favor. Bills approved include hospital relief, lumber, health, relief items, and tax collection continuation to July 5 1938 with plans to reconvene in Orono.
