They discussed a municipal water supply decision with the Township Council due August 4, a road program, cemetery improvements, curb installation with hot mix, debris cleanup, and merchant street sweeping. Kel Air Manufacturing Co. housing expected by August 15, and a potential Campsite land purchase with grant consideration were debated. A Recreational Committee was to be formed to start a commission.

4 H Swine Club Visits Farms in Janetville Tour
Durham 4 H Swine Club visited two local farms on Monday evening July 27. At Floyd Stinson’s No 2 Janetville farm members toured hog barns and learned breeding and feeding programs. Stinson markets over 500 hogs yearly and 60 to 65 percent grade A hogs. They then toured Howard Malc olm Janetville farm which markets about 800 hogs annually with 60 to 65 percent grade A hogs. Both breeders market hogs at weights between 188 and 190 pounds and praised cooperative program efforts.

Orono Band performed on the Tamblyns lawn with a varied program of marches overtures and sacred numbers. Donald Hamm played a euphonium solo while the Don Staples vocal quartet sang How Great Thou Art. Kenneth Graham recorded and replayed the concert as guests enjoyed lunch on the lawn. William Allin praised the host for a delightful evening and the band agreed to play in Brighton Civic Holiday leading the Colutham parade of 47 floats at their Centennial.
