The event included a baby show won by Gail, 15 months, and a popularity contest led by Marie Moise. The Legion aims to raise about 5 000 dollars to renovate its new community building.

Ontario used 430 million pounds of whole milk in June 1947 for creamery butter and Cheddar cheese, a drop from 487 million in June 1946. Creamery butter production rose to 10.672 million pounds from 10.060 million, while Durham County output increased to 152,763 pounds in June 1947 from 137,610. For six months, Durham County butter rose from 419,077 to 485,250 pounds.
