Orono Police Seek Centre Status for Municipal Building

Teenagers Sing Christmas Carols by Orono United Church group
The Teen Agers of the Orono United Church and other youths met at the church Sunday at 6 30 pm before touring the village to sing Christmas carols. About fifty carol ers covered most of the village then returned for sandwiches and hot chocolate at the church. A final song was held at the church.

Plan To Open Rink Xmas Nite
The weatherman has cooperated with winter at the Orono Rink and public skating could open on Christmas night. Skating schedules include Wednesday evenings, Saturday afternoons and evenings, and Christmas and New Year’s nights. Hockey for minor bays with ice ready will start Saturday morning with the Atoms.

Heber John Souch died December 2 1959 at Bowmanville Memorial Hospital after a weeks illness. Survived by wife Mary Evelyn Rickaby two daughters Eileen and Dorothy and two grandchildren Wayne and Mary Lynn. Funeral December 4 at Orono United Church with Rev Basil Long. interment in Orono Cemetery.
