Orono Skating and Hockey Season Kicks Into Gear
Ice making begins at Orono Arena with Gordon Winter overseeing the rink. Amateur Athletic sponsors at least three hockey teams as the Orono Skating Club returns to teach fancy skating. Intermediate hockey returns and the Orono Orphans host Port Hope in a 10 to 8 exhibition win. The Orono Oddfellows and Rebekah Dance drew a smaller crowd due to icy roads, but raised 456 dollars from a turkey draw.

Power Failure Delays Badminton Tournament at Newcastle
About twenty Orono players travelled to Newcastle for a mixed doubles event. A power outage halted play before the first round finished, while ladies and mens doubles and mixed doubles were planned. The club will return to Newcastle in the new year. Lunch by candlelight was enjoyed.
