Former Clarke Couple Celebrate 50th Anniversary
Cobourg hosts 50th anniversary celebration for Mr and Mrs Neals of Clarke Township fame. He born 1861 in Hope Township, she born in Cartwright Township. After farming they moved to Cobourg where he joined the Grand Trunk Railway in 1900 and retired last year. They have a son in Toronto and a grandchild.

A self funded frontier road in the Peace River area of Alberta is being built by 85,000 local residents to connect land with the Pacific coast. They raised funds through dances shows and whist drives and drive toward Prince George BC, joining the Cariboo Trail to Vancouver. The venture traces back to Alexander Monkman a farmer turned trapper who in 1922 crossed a pass over the Rockies now part of the route being forged northward.
