The Kendal community reports the birth of a baby girl to Mr. and Mrs. Minne Wybengs on Monday August 5. John Patton’s death after August 1 accident is announced with sympathy to his son Roy and family. Farm activity includes tobacco harvest beginning last Tuesday. Engagement announced for James McCarron and Doriida Geneau to be married August ninth at St Joseph’s Bowmanville. Several weather and property incidents noted including a lightning strike on Arthur Thompson’s barn and stock-fire damage near Kendal. Funeral for Mrs. Fred Cornish held August 4 at Port Hope Orono Cemetery with thanks to local neighbors and church members.
