Bear Seen on Sayer's Hill Stirs Local Hunters
A large black bear was spotted on Sayer's Hill near Gabriel Sayer's farm by two youths, after earlier shots by hunters on Lou McCoy's farm. Local residents James Pirkey D Willis Dusenberry and George Magory joined hunts, bagging seven rabbits four woodcock and two partridges. A trainer says the bear disappeared into Bayer's Hill woods after a bee sting.

Funeral of Ma Race at North Congregational Church
The funeral of Austin A Race was held Thursday afternoon at 1 20 at his late home on Commonwealth Avenue extension and at 2 at North Congregational Church of which he was a member. The services were led by Rev H Reynolds pastor. A large attendance of relatives and friends, with many generous offerings.
