The Board of Trustees of the M. C. A comprising Dr. T. D. Mills E Hanford C H Hopkins John Me Williams and S B Woodward met Friday to authorize using part of Mira Sarah C Roe bequest to cancel the mortgage on the current site of the proposed new building at West M and William streets. A fall subscription drive is planned as Y M C A promoters gain new momentum from the Roe settlement to establish a branch in this city.

At a regular Corliss Association No 43 meeting the newly chosen officers were installed by Associate Deputy Gen W Cole. Afterward members held a banquet of ice cream and beverages. A fifteen member delegation then toured the Mapaneeb area visiting Hank Falls power plant and other facilities near Eleavilic-.
A court hearing in Goshen Moday morning declared Miss Hate K Ward of Newburgh incompetent and a committee appointed to manage her property. The witnesses included Dr D T Cemaid and R B Tock of Goshen and Russel Wirgins, with four commissioners to oversee her estate. Ward’s inheritance included a third share in the late Tvdee Ward’s home.
Private funeral services were held at the family home on Dolson Avenue for James A. Conklin with no pallbearers. A Te Deum Mass for the repose of his soul was celebrated at St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Father Daly officiating.
The Dover Goshen Convalescent Children's Home held a July meeting at Westminster Church. On June 16 forty two children arrived for two weeks with thirty seven returning the same day seven extended for special needs. Donations from two churches cover bills and funds remain for the present. An Aug 5 event will feature youth groups from local churches entertaining the children.
The Orange Branch of the Sunshine Society elected officers at a Friday meeting hosted by Mrs. Nixon at 211 Highland Ave. New president Mrs. Hehn presided. vice president Mrs. J B Kittie. secretary Mrs. George Hers. treasurer Mrs. J B Wood. pianist Mrs. A H Phittins. A program of humorous readings followed. next meeting set for the Convalescent Home in August.
W B Rexee and party returned from an extended western journey to Seattle and the Columbia River region. The group traveled by train across Canada via the Canadian Pacific line returning to Middietowa after a tour that included Silver Chir and other noted stops.
Jovegh Cann of Barzain Cloth ine store spent the weekend with family at Adlance Ci. Mr. Ratzinger met Mr. Cahn in New Teasore building, then left for Chicago and Atlantic City where he now controls a clothing house. The St Pauls Sunday School plans a picnic at Midway Park next Tuesday with free transport and refreshments for children.

Captain John Munger aged 78 and long time New York fire department officer died in Fishkill Landing. He was uncle to Mrs. Wik and Mrs. Marshall, brother of James Edward Munger a Dutchess county supervisor and lumber dealer. He leaves a widow and two children, Willace and Martha.
William Gibbs a farmer near Circleville fell from a hay wagon in his barn Saturday at about 7:30. He sustained severe bruises after being thrown to the barn floor. Dr. Santee of Schnecksville attended him, hoping for a quick recovery.
At a meeting of the DPeeey Canary Board of Freeholders on Thursday the County Engineer was directed to answer the river road through Montague town and pursue making it a state road. Estimates and details will be provided and approval expected from the Stats Commission. Similar action was taken for the Clove road earlier, with anticipation Sussex county may join both highways.
In a forenoon game between the C. W. conductors and engineers on Lincoln Street the conductors won 2 to 9. Lineups list Pratt and others for the conductors and Stewart and teammates for the engineers.
Ross Procopio aged seven, son of Mr and Mrs G Procopio, died Saturday after two months of fever. Burial took place Sunday in St Man’s Cemetery, Montgomery. Arthur Perr, from Auburn hospital since June 1948, is reported convalescent at the Scarding home and under the care of Hardenburgh lodge I O F of Auburn.
A worker known as a swan was found dead on the Ez track near Chester station after a likely collision with a locomotive. One arm was severely mangled, suggesting a fatal encounter during a short distance yard run.
