Strong leadership urged for Farmers union movement

President Charles S. Barrett told the Shawnee Oklahoma convention that the greatest need of the American farmer is effective leadership. He praised the union’s progress, noted strong state treasuries, and warned that without capable leaders in every state the movement risks failure and loss of farmer esteem.

Beattie Guilty in Virginia Murder Case

Henry Clay Beattie Jr is found guilty of first degree murder in the shooting death of his wife Louise Owen Beattie in Chesterfield Virginia.
