Hillsboro Depot Burns Amid Broad Blaze
The Hillsboro freight and passenger depot and telegraph station burned around midnight. The warehouse lost all freight and baggage with no entry after discovery. Several travelers and merchants suffered losses including two trunks of J Clyde Cheek. The Southern will provide depot accommodations for now. Mr Cheek, visiting from New York, plans to return as rheumatism limits activities. Capt Williams remains limited after a prior accident.
