When Sutton Forged to the Front in Love and Letters
A fiction excerpt moves from a flirtatious office scene to a humorous romance as Sutton declares love to Ruth Decker after probing marriage prospects. He convinces her, and they plan a wedding as a friend muses on his own sudden resolve. An 18th century vignette about Burr’s secret late-night courtship with Mrs Prevost adds a historical counterpoint.

Giants' Graves at Besau Excavations Unearth Ancient Urns
The cairns or giant graves at Besau near Butin Germany are being excavated under Professor Knorr of Kiel Museum of Antiquities. One grave yielded two urns and a gold bracelet twelve centimetres long. A stone grave three metres by 170 centimetres held two skeletons believed over 3000 years old. Work will continue, suggesting an ancient cemetery or place of sacrifice once located there.

The Privilege of Improving in Our Habits
A candid examination of our habits shows many neglects of performance and mediocrity without excuse. We have been unfaithful and unprofitable servants, yet the privilege of improving remains and is a duty as stated by Lutheran Observer.
