Taps Out Passes Torch For Veterans Night In Old Towne Orange

Old Towne Orange tests valet service to ease parking
Old Towne Orange launches a three month valet pilot from June 23 to address the parking crunch at the popular district. Valet hours are 11 am to 2 30 pm and 5 30 pm to 11 pm daily with a $6 fee per vehicle. AmeriPark operates the service, with a ticketless system via smartphones and paper tickets for non smart phone users. The program costs about $19 440 monthly, expected to be covered by future revenue, and clients drop off at 230 E Chapman Ave near Watson's Soda Fountain. Parking occurs in three city lots while a free launch day on June 28 boosts visibility. Plans for a new $26.3 million off space parking structure at Lemon and Chapman aim to further relieve congestion.

El Modena High Holds Inaugural Renaissance Festival of the Arts
More than 200 students performed or displayed art at El Modena High School’s Renaissance Festival of the Arts held in the outdoor nature center. The daylong event featured dance, vocal and instrumental music, theater, and visual art with lanterns, banners, and Shakespearean inspired activities, drawing about 1,200 students and visitors.
