Professor West Nominated for Santiago Canyon College Award
Professor John West of Santiago Canyon College is nominated by peers for the 2002 03 faculty excellence award. An anthropology and sociology instructor since 1991 he teaches marriage and family courses and advises the Students of Diverse Cultures club. He donated the 1500 prize to fund books emergency loans a memorial scholarship and the 2004 Faculty Excellence Awards.

Firefighters to hold annual variety show in Anaheim

Orange Park Acres Fourth of July Parade Keeps Spontaneity Alive
Orange Park Acres celebrates its 75th anniversary with a freewheeling parade organized by longtime resident Richard Siebert who has run it for 22 years. The event starts at 9:30 a.m. from Salem Lutheran Church, with 8:30 a.m. lineups and no budget, ending in donated ice cream. Grand marshals include at least 13 longtime residents, and typical entries feature a Villa Park fire truck, vintage cars, horses, floats, and decorated bikes among the many participants.
