Orange Park Acres association preserves historic trails
The Orange Park Association, formed in the 1950s to keep the rural character of Orange Park Acres, continues caring for its notable horse community trails. Lance Mora, trails chair, says volunteers trim trees repair trails and replace fencing on the same paths since the area's founding.

Board candidate changes statement in Salas election case
Orange County Superior Court ruled in favor of Orange Unified School District board member Mark Wayland over the wording of Gregory Salas candidacy statement for the March 1 special election. Wayland had objected to being listed as an endorser and questioned Salas as an incumbent despite 38 days as provisional trustee. Salas was appointed in October to represent Anaheim Hills. Wayland earlier announced resignation for health reasons but now plans a two month leave after the election to decide his future health.

Villa Park seeks public input on street improvements
Villa Park will host a public workshop on January 25 to discuss widening Mesa Drive Loma Street and Valley Drive and adding curbs and gutters. City officials aim to boost safety for residents and pedestrians and help on trash days. Three time slots will cover each street with presentations and Q and A. Two conceptual plans exist per street and residents will judge them before final drafting. Funding is not yet set. after design, grant applications and budget funding may follow, with no firm timeline yet.
