Sister of Thomas Lyons Died at Brampton
Margaret Ann Love of Frederick Street Brampton died September 3 after a three year illness. She was born near Cheltenham in 1878 and active in the United Church and Church Women's Organizations. Surviving are her husband George A Love her mother Mrs Jas Lyons Sr Brampton six sisters and three brothers. Funeral September 5 at St Pauls Brampton Parlours with interment in Brampton Cemetery.

Large Crowd Attends Lorne Scots Jamboree
The Lorne Scots Jamboree at the Park on Labor Day drew a large crowd despite morning showers. Canada’s fifth ration book will be handed out during the third week in October. Howard Ross, Ration Administrator of the Wartime Prices and Trade Board, said the new book covers 50 weeks. Former books were renewed after 32 weeks. The larger book promises convenience and significant time savings.

Grounds feature horse shows cattle sheep and swine as well as harness and race events with premium money boosted by a $1 membership ticket and a mammoth Friday night Arena dance by Modernaires Orchestra.
