A wife received word last Wednesday that Pte. George K Greensward is missing since September 28. Son of Albert Greensward of Brampton he enlisted with the Lorne Scots in 1942 and served in Italy after training at Guelph and moving through Ireland and Canada before going overseas in November 1943.

Mrs. Edgar Robertson of Milton spoke at the WMS thank offering meeting at Mrs. W Mitchells home about life as the wife of a medical missionary in China. The program featured Chinese garments and embroidery, crochet and carving, with vocal solo by Mrs. Norton and poems by Mrs. Smethurst and Mrs. Gisby. Mrs. H Norton led a Thanksgiving prayer and Mrs. Benton welcomed attendees. A social hour followed. The Georgetown Municipal Office will issue the new No 6 ration books this Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 10 p.m. Books replaced old ones for residents, with earlier days serving employees at local plants.
