Georgetown Town Council moves on sewer plan approval
At a special meeting of the Town Council Mr. QO. R. Hagey was directed to prepare further sewerage plans for Georgetown. The council also seeks a Health Department order to fund the project after ratepayers voted 542 to 76 in its favor on October 5 1945. Allan Norton sought a bowling alley permit and a license was granted. Other items on the agenda were postponed to November. Councillor Orr proposed coal dealer licensing and public scales, but the motions failed to gain support.

Clifford Robinson a life long Halton County resident died after a bull he was handling turned mad in its pen. He died en route to Milton Hospital. Survived by his mother two sisters and four brothers. Funeral under Orange auspices at St Stephen's Church with private service then public service. Interment in church cemetery.

Welcome Home Pte Myrle Reid Returns From Overseas Service
Pte Myrle Reid arrives home on the New Amsterdam October 1 after five years overseas. He spends a leave in Glen Williams with his wife and daughter Mary Lyne whom he had never met. Son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Reid born in Orangeville, Reid enlisted with the 48th Highlanders in July 1940, trained at Camp Borden, served in France Belgium Holland and Germany, later worked for Harry Logan, and returned to active service in September 1943 with further service in Italy and Holland.

A.B. Abbie Kemshead, son of Mr. and Mrs. J Kemshead, is on leave pending discharge. A former Georgetown hockey player, he joined the army three years ago, trained as a paratrooper, then transferred to the navy. He served on Atlantic duty with the 58 Clearwater Park.
