Clarence Kennedy has sold his Arrow Taxi Company to Elgin Bradley after six years in the business. Kennedy started at Smith & Stone, operated from his Guelph Street home, bought Simpson's Taxi on Malin Street, and last March sold his Brampton operation to Jack Morrow. Bradley, a former Kennedy driver, is from the Orangeville district and previously lived in Georgetown.

Halton Plowboys Excel at International Plowing Match
Eight Halton plowboys attended the International Plowing Match at Carp. Stan Mey led with top marks in walking plow classes, Algie Wallace of North Gower won the overseas trip, while Arnold Howden John Cunningham Barry Archer and others earned multiple awards. Hydrant Relocation Halts Water Service in Town Section
Water service in a town area east of the highway was interrupted for hours on Sunday as a hydrant at the Queen Street corner was moved along Queen Street. The move is part of an scheme to round off the corner to improve entrance from the Toronto side and to fix a drainage issue on the Scott Motors property. Council voted to proceed with the corner rounding immediately and stated no private property would be affected.

Thirty Years Service Retires on Pension at Provincial Paper
John D. Kelly retired after thirty years at Provincial Paper Ltd and received a Lazy-Boy chair from staff on his last day. He will join a paper mill supply house in the city. Kelly, a Georgetown resident, previously served in the American army in the Orient and worked for an oil company. He spent 27 years as office manager at the old lower mill and three years in the coating division, was active in town affairs, and helped with Victory Bond drives. He and Mrs. Kelly have five children: Jim, William, Peggy, Moira, and Michael.
