Smith and Stone Plant Expands
Muriel Cleveland an assembly department employee for five years at Smith and Stone died in Toronto General Hospital from injuries after an auto accident Monday night two miles south of Georgetown. The crash occurred when a vehicle struck an abutment on a bridge near Percy Leslie's farm at about 10 30 p m. Dr J H Chamberlea and De C V Williams attended the scene before Cleveland was transported by ambulance. The funeral will be held at her Dunnville home. Also, Mike Scott of Mike's Place Restaurant sustained minor injuries when his car was struck by a transport driven by Chester Kirk Belwood after a left turn on an icy street. Mr Smith was involved in the incident, smoking during the turn, and another driver, Mr Seaith, suffered lacerations to his right hand.

The Smith & Stone division announces a new Os baw a plant addition expected to create seven hundred more jobs by next spring. The project includes moving a renovated H Boucinan house to a new site on Rav er View Crescent fronting Victoria Street and Ontario Street. Construction will start soon with occupancy projected early next year, boosting total staff from about 500 to over 600 after prior declines in the electrical trades.
