Tenderfoot Scouts who attended last summer camp, halted by polio scare, enjoyed a Niagara Falls trip Monday including a visit to the St. Catharines locks. The Green Six led by Douglas Wrigglesworth won the Good Hunting Pennant. Cubs collect wire coat-hangers for points and Christmas Card sales aid equipment funds. A group charter ceremony with Scout Field Commissioner A. S. Fleming is set for Monday evening. parents and friends invited. Victor McNiven Seriously Injured In Motor Accident
In Verdun an Oct 4 Rebekah Lodge 184 installed officers for 1949 50 term with about 130 present. Victor McNiven suffered serious injuries when his car collided with a Toronto car on No 10 Highway near Victoria during heavy rain at 6 30 pm. A 19 year old Mimico resident Jack Jackson was killed. his brother Harry 18 injured. McNiven was taken to Peel Memorial Hospital with a broken jaw and two broken legs. A third car driven by Herbert Hole skidded and four passengers were treated for facial and hand cuts.
