Second Wylie Son Gives Life in War
Tragic news reached Mr and Mrs William Wylie of Paper Mill Road with the death of their son Pte Bill Wylie in Italy. His wife at Oaxaca has a son born after he went overseas four years ago. Dr J G Sutherland of Limehouse dies after illness
Dr J G Sutherland, eye ear nose and throat specialist and longtime Georgetown resident, died Sunday May 28 after a brief illness. He served as elder at Limehouse Presbyterian Church and honorary president of Post 120 Canadian Legion. Survived by two sons in the armed forces, Col Lindsay Sutherland of the R.C.A.S.L.O and Major Gordon Rutherland of the PPOLI. wife predeceased. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday.

Draw for Calf Nets $100 For Soldiers' Comforts
Mr. Ben Young of Terra Cotta contributes $100 to the Herald Soldiers Comforts Fund. He printed four hundred calf raffle tickets from an accredited Holstein herd and sold them in a week. The drawing was at the Municipal Building on Saturday. Mayor Baraki Cleave drew the ticket and Robert Reid Norval won the calf. This is Young’s second charity raffle for the fund.
