Funeral of Cecil Keeler in Erin Township
The funeral for Cecil Keeler was held at his Erin Township home on Friday May 12 conducted by Rev. W O Foreman. The service honored a life marked by service on the Misses Moore farm in Georgetown and his service with the Canadian Army. He is survived by a step mother two brothers and three sisters with interment in Erin Cemetery. Pallbearers were hunting party members and floral tributes honored the deceased with prayers and memory lines.

Hackney Team Sold for $2000
Mr and Mrs R M Barden Hills sold their team of mares Whitegate Princess and Whitegate Smile to Kilgour Wilson Lachute Quebec for two thousand dollars. They were shipped by rail from Guelph last Wednesday. The team had won ninety three first prizes at Western Ontario fairs last season. Dr W J R Fowler of Guelph, who called the team among the best in the province, negotiated the deal.

The ration administration announces a new tea-coffee coupon allowing eight ounces of coffee and two ounces of tea per coupon. Previously buyers could not mix tea and coffee. With the coupon value increase, one coupon could buy four ounces of tea or one pound of coffee, or a combination within those limits.

Good Attendance at Boys' Band Euchre Night
Thirteen tables of euchre were played in the Men’s Club Room at St George’s Church on the first night of the Boys’ Band Marathon Euchre. Joseph Gibbons organized the event with Dr Clifford Reid as cashier. proceeds totaled 13 dollars. Band President Joseph Gibbons welcomed players and Mrs J McGibbon posted the high score with 98 points. Twelve games were played and many raffle tickets for a blanket donation were sold for a future drawing.

Margot Williams daughter of Mr and Mrs J R Williams graduated from the Toronto General Hospital School for Nurses on Thursday May 18. Ninety nurses received the degree of Registered Nurse in one of the largest classes on record at the ceremonies attended by Mr and Mrs Williams.
