Doctor Hosking Electrocuted in Bath Incident
Dr Frederick James Hosking well known physician of Hillsdale died after being electrocuted in a bath when a sun lamp on his chest was switched on. The 3 year old son cried out and Mrs Hosking found him slumped across the tub. Dr G E Tanner of Midland attempted artificial respiration but failed. Survived by widow Edna May Pearen and two children Bruce and Wayne, plus his parents and siblings. He studied at the University of Toronto and practiced in Hillsdale since 1935.

Speeding Car Crashes Tree Killing Two Men
A 1931 coupe left the road near Georgetown on No highway and crashed into a tree killing Zabo McKee, owner and driver, instantly and Robert Myers, 35, of Hamilton, died hours later in Guelph General Hospital. Inquest planned with Coroner Dr J A Mr Niven set to review the fatalities.

Esquesing Township approves gravel tender amid special meeting
A special Esquesing Township Council session on May 12 1939 presided by Reeve N A Robinson opened bids for gravel supply crushing loading and placement. Deputy Reeve W A Wilson C H May G W Murray and Edwin Harrop attended with Higgins from the Department of Highways. The tender of A Bast of Kitchener for 56 cents per cubic yard was accepted and future tenders were to be returned. The council adjourned to June 12 for a Court of Revision or call of the Reeve.
