Mercury Vapour Lights Brighten Georgetown Town Streets

Georgetown Hydro Commission has replaced incandescent street lights from Main Street to Maple Avenue with 400 watt mercury vapour luminaires and upgraded Queen Street and John Street subway to 175 watt units. The project includes fifteen foot aluminum brackets, $4000 for twenty five new brackets, and plans for about thirty five more lights coasted by fixed charges and wattage fees to retire the debt in twenty years. Routine daylight tests on Fridays are conducted to check burnt-out bulbs.

Mrs Jean Dwyer to Join Staff at School for Deaf

Rev. Thomas Forgrave of 14 Union St received his Bachelor of Divinity degree at University of Toronto Convocation Hall last Wednesday. He will be ordained June 1 in Kitchener and begin ministry in Alberta Conference in July. He married Margaret Andrews of Thorsby, Alberta, last fall and earned a BA earlier at Toronto. He is noted for strong evangelism and second place in the Joy Wallace Prize for New Testament studies.
