Jon McDermid former Georgetown postmaster since 1913 died Tuesday after an illness of several months. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 2:30 PM on May 4th. He served the town and his duties at the Georgetown post office.

Frank Carter earned the clarinet solo gold medal, and multiple students from Georgetown and Burlington earned placements.
