Budget Relief Small for Canadian Taxpayers Says Spectator Ottawa

Cedar Crest Golf Club Elect Officers

At a large meeting of the men’s section at J. R. Smith’s home officers were elected. J. A. Willoughby was named President with J. A Willoughby as Vice President and J. B Mackenzie as Captain. J. H. Creighton Acton became Vice-Captain. Handicap and social committees were formed with Messrs Four, Coffin, Kennedy, Robb, Gorring, and Salt. Willoughby said the course would be playable within days and 24 members from Arion would play this year, up from 13. The club anticipates an active season on Unb Ontario’s fine one hole course.

Glen Williams United Church Marks Anniversary Milestone

Glen Williams United Church celebrated its 88th anniversary with Rev. W. R. Archer as special speaker and strong attendance. Postmaster McDermid Dies After Months of Illness

Jon McDermid former Georgetown postmaster since 1913 died Tuesday after an illness of several months. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 2:30 PM on May 4th. He served the town and his duties at the Georgetown post office.

High School Orchestra Wins First at Halton Festival

The local high school orchestra, directed by Mr. C Sutcliffe, won the Taylor Cup at the Halton Festival with 82 marks the top score of the evening. Frank Carter earned the clarinet solo gold medal, and multiple students from Georgetown and Burlington earned placements. The event featured seven ty of our students and praise from adjudicator T Chaftoe of London.
