Georgetown Council Sets 46 Mil Tax Rate After Subsidy
In a special session, Georgetown council reduced the 1939 tax rate to 46 mills after a 1.5 mill government subsidy. The meeting also advanced a by law to fund a complete sewage system with a May 29 vote and discussed transportation for town children to Toronto on May 22 to see the King and Queen.
