Provincial Honour Awarded At Ashgrove Club Event
Miss Mage Wingfield of the Ashgrove Club received a Provincial Honour for completing club work. Other members including Miss Mildred Reed and Mrs Batkin were recognized as well. The event showcased the Cereal Shelf project with 23 participants, muffins, a Cereal Quiz, and menus, plus the Cotton Accessories display for the Girls Bedroom. The day highlighted high standards and value of homemaker projects with plans for future sponsorship by Junior and Senior Women’s Institutes.

Ontario Agricultural College hosts annual field day events
Halton and Peel farmers attended the Ontario Agricultural College annual field day. Judges from the Ontario Jersey Club and local Holstein experts presented dairy cattle classes. Prizes went to Jersey clubs and junior and senior dairy participants from Peel, Oakville, Norval, Acton, and Halton with demonstrations by livestock and farm machinery exhibits.

International Plowing Match Set for Brant County
The 1949 International Plowing Match will be near Burford in Brant County on October 12 to 14. The Ontario Plowmen's Association omits entries from those who competed in a Branch Match in 1948 and now requires all entries filed before 5 30 p.m. the day before the class or competition.

United Church Anniversary Services at Georgetown
The Erin United Church anniversary services were led by Rev. R. H. Somerville in Georgetown with a choir directed by Miss Lynda Stewart. The sacraments will be observed next Sunday at 11 am and 7 pm. A sound movie “A Surprise for Mini Deh” will be shown in Sunday School next Sunday morning. Construction on the new wing progresses with hopes of completion before fall activities.
