The Georgetown squad journeyed to Oakville Monday night and lost to Lakeshore 11 4 as heavy hitting kept Oakville ahead with multiple home runs. Brydon and McNally pitched for Georgetown while Gibbs and Havell hurled for Oakville. Halpin and Georgetown’s new catcher produced 12 hits combined. a new pitcher is expected for Thursday’s home game against Acton. Georgetown travels to Multon on Saturday afternoon.

Large crowds attended Mount Pleasant United Church for the 105th founding anniversary service. Rev. Dr. A. J. Vining of Toronto delivered two sermons and was assisted by Pastor Rev. F. A. Gilbert. The choir performed with help from the Male Quartette of King Street Baptist Church Hauillon.

Free Trip for Achievement Day Winners to Ottawa and Quebec
One hundred twenty Halton youths attended the County Achievement Day in Milton. Seventy one young ladies, under Miss Betty Wallace and Miss Lulu Rowe, displayed clothing and cooking projects while ten livestock classes were judged at local farms by officials including J E Whitelock and R H Graham. Miss Beatrice Creasy of the National Office Victorian Order of Nurses in Ottawa surveyed Georgetown about forming a local branch. She spoke with doctors, Lions Club, LODE, Women’s Institute and the Local Council of Women as Brampton and Milton branches exist. The order provides visiting nursing at low cost, serving medical, surgical and maternity patients with health teaching, and accepts patients regardless of race or creed.

Band Skips Competition At Waterloo Festival
Despite thirty six bands entered the eighth annual Waterloo band festival the organizing body has decided to withdraw from competition for now. It remains unclear if individual members will enter solo events. The note hopes a new bandmaster will be found soon to fill the vacancy left by Mr Perrott and restore the band to its former competitive standing.
