Glen Williams residents plan a two day joint presentation and old boys reunion to honor local servicemen with a Friday variety show featuring Stop & Go stars and a Saturday 1 pm parade led by the Lorne Scots Band. Brigadier Sparling will present wrist watches to 84 veterans, with mantel clocks for next of kin, followed by sports and street dancing. A Sunday church service closes the events.

Congregations overflowed Limehouse Presbyterian Church as Rev Dr W W Bryden of Knox College Taronto spoke on the Nature of the Church and the Nature of Faith. He urged belief in God alone and warned against a permissive forgiveness before an evening Bible presentation. A bound Bible and Book of Praise were presented to Bryden by Rev Chas C Cochrane. Marion Hepburn and Kenneth provided solos.

Long Harness Maker B C Nixon Dies at 85 in Georgetown
Esquesing Township resident and harness-maker R C Nixon died in his sleep on June 15 at his Maple Avenue home. Born in Stewarttown 85 years ago to Edward Nixon and Jane Walker, he built a trade in Stewarttown and later Georgetown on Wesleyan Street. Survived by his wife Clara Campbell and son Keith of Toronto, funeral held Monday with Rev C C Cochrane officiating and Marion Hepburn singing Lead Kindly Light. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery Georgetown.

Township approves payments for sheep claims and council actions
At a Friday meeting on June 14 Exsquesing Council approved another 309 paid in sheep claims bringing the total to 1065.50 for sheep killed by dogs this spring. The treasurer was authorized to sign all cheques for the township with the Canadian Bank of Commerce. Donations were approved for Glen Williams Recreational Committee Norval Service Personnel Ward 1 and others. visitors from Toronto stayed with local residents on John Street.

Homecoming Of RCAF LAC Wilfred Mino Capped By England Return
LAC Wilfred Mino returned to his wife and daughter Linda Joyce after service overseas with the RCAF. He crossed from England on the Aquitania after a delayed homecoming when the Ile de France broke down. Mino enlisted in October 1943 trained in Galt St Thomas and Guelph, went to England August 1944, served in India then returned to England last September. He worked for Georgetown Lumber Co before enlisting.

Mrs Arthur Squires Dies Suddenly in Georgetown
Sudden death of Mrs. Arthur L. Squires on June 8 from a heart attack shocks Georgetown friends. Born Mary Edith Thornton in Sweaborg near Woodstock, she lived in Georgetown since 1924 with her late husband, ONR station agent. Survived by four children, seven grandchildren, and a brother. funeral held at home with Rev. R C Todd and Rev. John McDermid, interment in Rockwood Cemetery.
