Marilyn Florence Warnes daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Warnes and David George Hastings son of Mr and Mrs Fred C Hastings married in a double ring ceremony at St George's Anglican Church Toronto on December 7 at 4 pm. The bride wore a white gown with a lace trim and veil. wedding was officiated by Rev Kenneth Richardson with organist Mrs W F Bradley leading the music. The Education Department approves replacing the old Georgetown high school building with a new two storey eight room addition after a 1887 structure. A second high school in Milton and use of the present building for lower grades are being discussed. Acton high school may gain more rooms as enrolment grows. Christmas Tree Run Car Crash Injures Mrs Shortill and Son
Mrs F J Shortill and her son Ross were injured in a collision with a car driven by Bill Thompson on a grade between Willitts and Allans while returning from church to place a Christmas tree. Both suffered facial cuts, and Mrs Shortill required hospital x rays for foot and leg injuries. The same week the Blue Mountain School concert showcased student talent, with Mrs Shortill praised for training. Local church events included a Friday Christmas supper, Santa gifts for children, and a Sunday Mission Band meeting with 22 members and six visitors.

Teacher Escapes Death When Train Hits Car
Thomas Beer of R R 3 Georgetown escaped injury when his late model Ford ranch wagon was struck by a Hamilton bound morning train at the No 17 Rideroad crossing near Smiths Garage. Cst Hardy reported slippery road conditions and approx. 1000 dollars in damage. The crash occurred about 8 45 on his way to Georgetown High School where he teaches.
