Stan Allen reeve and Harold Cleave contested the deputy reeve post. Doug Sargent won deputy reeveship by 244 votes. A Norton lost his council seat as Allen won by 162. Mayor Jack Armstrong was acclaimed. LesRoy Dale unseated Thos. L. Lu OAS. Garfield McGilvray topped polls. Voters approved a $1500 band grant and natural gas facilities. About 180 attendees at Grace Church Christmas entertainment held in Odd Fellows Hall. Sunday School superintendent William Ganton chaired. Bruce Penny spoke on Christmas meaning. The program featured many children with recitations, songs, a Dutch carol, a primary and junior performance, a play Love Thy Neighbour, and certificates for cradle roll mothers.
