Mrs S Walker president presided and the meeting opened with hymn and prayer. An informative talk covered the angora wool industry with Mrs Moyer describing raising thoroughbred angoras and spinning wool into garments for distribution. She noted potential for an angora industry in Canada post war as European markets dwindle and explained wool yields of sixteen to twenty ounces per rabbit per year. The demonstration traced garment production from fleece to finished item and tea was served to conclude the evening.

Robert J. McKechnie a Georgetown native died of a cerebral hemorrhage at his Jamestown New York home on November 15. He organized the McKechnie Langer School of Commerce in Detroit and led James town’s James crown Business College since 1932. He leaves a wife Myrtle Soper two sons Elmore S. and Donald V. and a daughter Flora plus two brothers and a sister. Interment was in Sunset Hill Cemetery after a First Methodist Church service and Masonic rites.

Dr V Williams Georgetown Medical Officer of Health announced completion of the Toxoid Diphtheria Campaign. Three clinics were held at the Public School for public and pre school children. Twenty four pre school and twenty eight school children received the full three injections. Eighteen children entering school this year received one reinforcing dose. About 95 percent of public school children have taken advantage of inoculation this year and in prior years.
