The George town Branch of the Upper Canada Bible Society held its annual meeting on Thursday evening November 20 at George town Baptist Church. Rev. J. E. Well Known Georgetown Citizen Dies After Illness
James W a long time Georgetown resident died Saturday at his Edith Street home after several months illness. Born in Burling Scotland he came to Canada in 1901 and lived in Georgetown 38 years. He was 59 and survived by wife Lillian M Bullivant and five children. Funeral from Edith Street residence Monday afternoon conducted by Rev W G Thompson with pallbearers Frank Sykes Herb Distance James Mulholland Wesley Murray Arthur Evans and Thomas Bullivant. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery Georgetown.

Former Georgetown Resident Dies in Toronto at 90
Mrs. Angus McKinlay a former Georgetown resident died Thursday in Toronto at age 90. She is survived by sons Murray and Alec of Toronto and daughters Lyla Edna andMrs Devihe of Beaverton. Her husband who died in Georgetown in 1894 and son Captal Jay were predeceased. Funeral held in Toronto with burial at Greenwood Cemetery Georgetown.

Legion Stag Draws Large Local Crowd on Mill Street
A big turnout of Branch 120 Canadian Legion members and friends filled the Legion Rooms on Mill Street last Friday for a cigarette fund stag. Free admission spurred raffles that raised 36.05 dollars. Notable winners included Lt-Col Gordon Cousens and William Stewart of Erin who won chickens. Entertainers Jack Ayr and Jimmy Goode headlined a varied program with a larger group of singers and dancers, plus a Hawaiian duet from Guelph. Special honors went to Jack Hurst, president of the Guelph Legion branch, who received a bod thank you bearing "God Bless America" as Fred McCartney and Bob Muir looked after arrangements with Tom Grieve on raffles.
