Provincial Paper workers and families held their annual picnic in Stanley Park Erin on Sunday August 19. Attendees traveled by Georgetown Transportation bus or in cars. Races honored many children and adults with prizes. later attendees enjoyed swimming boating and a five o clock picnic supper in the park.

Nurse Heroine Averts Drowning at Terra Cotta
Mrs. B. Park a visiting nurse revived 17 year old John Van Deere of Brampton after he nearly drowned at Terra Cotta. She performed artificial respiration for about 20 minutes until Georgetown fire department arrived with the inhalator, which was unnecessary. Earlier she saved her six month old daughter Sharyn who toppled into seven feet of water.

Rain Cuts Attendance at the Rocket Run
Rain reduced turnout for the Yellowjackets fourth annual Rocket Run but the event proceeded. Forty motorcyclists gathered at Highway No. 7 east entrance at 8 30 p m to chase rockets, first prize went to 16, second and third prizes to five and two dollars, a wiener roast followed and the Yellowjackets plan a yearly contest open to all riders.
