Removal of road barriers announced as paving on Guelph Street will reroute through traffic via Maple Avenue to No. 7 then north to No. 7. John Street to stay open as a through route. paving to take three or four days. Harry Edwin Adams, 48, office manager at Smith and Stone Georgetown plant, died August 24 at Mountain Sanatorium after weeks of illness. Born in Liverpool, England, he lived in Hamilton and Georgetown since 1927. He was active in St. George's Church, library renovations, Anglers and Hunters Club, Anglican Churchmen, and Credit Lodge 219 AF and AM. Survived by wife Bernadine Mancuso, mother Mrs. Harry Holbrook, brother Donald Adams. Funeral at Dodsworth Brown Hamilton. interment Woodland Cemetery.

District Governor Walter DeGeer of Bowmanville visited the Rotary Club of Georgetown and praised its progress. A giant community auction is set for September 15 at 1 30 PM in Georgetown arena with Frank Petch leading. Fire destroys large storage barn near Stewarttown
Fire destroyed the 3,150 square foot storage barn on Charles Greig's farm two miles southwest of Stewarttown.
