The Georgetown Laundry began operations in the Georgetown Dairy Building on Bona Street. Two English proprietors, Gordon Knight and Sid Levoir, chose Georgetown after surveying several Ontario towns. The facility features a 140 pound capacity washer, extractor, and team boiler, offering wet wash, flat finish, and fully finished services with weekly collection and delivery. Both owners served in the Royal Air Force during WWII and trained in Canada, Knight in North Battleford, Neepawa, and Levoir in Gananoque.
